To everyone!!!
We hope that you are already having a wonderful year!! It's been a very long time since my last post, and for that I am sorry. One of my resolutions is to post much more often, even though we don't have any mares due this year.
We have lots of updates for you all... but unfortunately I have no photos this time. Please, stop yelling at your computer, I know I need to get on the ball!!
Oh... where to start! How about the horses?
All are doing wonderful actually, and I'm very thankful for that . Buggy and Lacey were left open this year. Lacey definately needed the year off and Buggy, well, I was just a bit too pregnant myself to get her bred. No harm though, she seems to be enjoying her time off just fine. Both are fat and sassy girls still and we're very excited to be starting Lacey undersaddle this year. ;D I'm actually chomping at the bit (no pun intended) for the ground to dry out some so that I can begin. She's such a wonderful mare in every other aspect that she should be a snap to start.
I'm hoping to start showing Nitro in the next couple of months, momma Lacey may be tagging along for some experience as well. Going to be keeping it at a minimum though, Aiden is still a mommas boy and I just can't stay away long.
Nitro is growing strong still. His rump seems to be higher and higher everyday! He's a perfect gentleman always, he got both mom and dads temperment that's for sure. He was trimmed last weekend and I didn't even have to put his halter on him, we just did it in the stall and he stood there. He is stalled next to Buggy right now and they are becoming the best of buds. Looks like we'll be gelding him in the next month or two I'm pretty sure. He's just doing so well, we couldn't be happier.
Sweetie, Shorty, and Lillian are all just as perfect as pie too. Enjoying the winter down time and staying fat and furry, VERY furry! We seem to be running the "Fat Farm" this year, and we're OK with that!
Hotrod is plodding along this winter. Hanging out and keeping an eye on his herd. He'll be busy in a couple of months though, time to become a daddy once again. He continues to amaze people that think all stallions are "mean" (though I've yet to meet one myself... yet). He's so friendly, I find it hard to catch him misbehaving at anytime.
I need to get an update and some pics of Sammy too! Last I heard though, she was doing very well, growing, gettin' chunky, and a total sweetheart. If you catch this Ginger, drop us a line if you don't hear from me soon and let us know how things are going.
The kids are all growing like little weeds too! Aaron is enjoying 1st grade to the fullest, although he had TONS of homework over Christmas break. Katelynn is keeping me busy when Aiden isn't. We've set up "homework" for her in the evening just to make her feel like she is getting the same thing Aaron is.... I'll be quick to remind her of that when she's 15 and doesn't want to do her homework anymore... . Aiden is 5 months old already! Can you believe it? I sure can't. He's lost a little weight over the last month so we are adding more food to his little diet (rice cereal...ooohhhh exciting!). As long as he gains in the next 2 weeks we don't need to worry... so everyone pray for weight! I'm hoping he just lost some from having a cold and growing in length. He gives Shane a hard time whenever I step out of his sight, total mommas boy, but is getting better. Rolling over and trying to crawl, he has no concept of slow down! He's wanting everything! Even the keyboard as I'm typing this! Sleeping for about 5 hours on a good night, and giving us lots of things to smile about everyday!
Well, that just about sums it up. How are all you guys? I'm posting more I promise, from now on, I really mean it this time! And I'll try and get some pics of everyone for the next big post.
Take care and here's to a GREAT YEAR everyone!!!!
